March - 2015

So March was a lot different than February as far as picture taking goes.  I have 73 pictures in this blog!  Wow!  Cuteness overload!  :)

I snapped these cute pictures of George and Jayna at lunch one day when George couldn't go to day care.  Barrett was at school.  :(

We really don't eat out that much, but I seem to take pictures when we do! :)

Ever since last summer, when we started eating new and different things, Jayna has enjoyed going to eat Hibachi.  I love Hibachi and it's near my doctor's office, so we went after one of my appointments.  It was a day or two before Jayna's birthday, so we spoiled her a little and went shopping for her birthday gift after our lunch.

The weekend after Jayna's actual birthday, we were invited to a birthday party for 4 brothers (two sets of twin boys, two years apart).  It was quite a little drive, but our kids had a blast!

I was kind of surprised that George let the lady put him in this thing, 

but he is a little thrill-seeker and he loved it!

Jayna had a birthday party later that same day, but I didn't take any pictures (bad mom!) :(

That night, we went to eat with my parents at one of Jayna's favorite local restaurants.

And because we like to extend birthday celebrations as long as we possibly can.....

We had a little tea party on that Sunday when family came to visit!

(it's hard to get everyone to be still, look at the camera, and give a normal smile - oh well)

The day that our nieces were going back home, we had plans to pack up to head to Red River for a few days, but we had to cancel our plans, because our goat went into labor!

Goats typically have 2 kids.  Having 1 is not unheard of; having 3 isn't as common,but it happens; and having 4 is like hitting the jackpot!   Our goat, Rose, had 3 girls.  The first one was breech and didn't survive birth.  

We named the two girls Izzy and Daffy (short for Daffodil).  Jayna named the first born Brownie, because she was almost all brown.

This was Rose's first time to have babies and we were worried about how she would do.  It took her about a day, but she finally understood that she was supposed to take care of them.  :)

It was a good thing that Bonham was there for their birth, because all of the babies came out in their sacs and Rose didn't do anything about it.  Normally, animals will immediately start cleaning them and getting them out of the sac, but she was so tired by the time she delivered.  She had labored for awhile trying to birth the breech baby.

Izzy and Daffy have markings more similar to their mom: lots of white with a little more brown around their heads and feet.  The daddy goat, Mr. Brown, is an almost solid, dark brown (hence, the name), with a small amount of white on his belly.

Baby goats are so cute and sweet.  I wanted to bring them inside, but Bonham said, "no"  :(

He's so mean.... lol

I guess I could sleep outside with them.  ;)

They were up and walking very quickly, even though they were a little wobbly.  They stayed very close to their mom.  Even as they got older, they liked to stay close to her or each other.
We recently sold Izzy and Daffy to my brother.  It's nice to know that they are together and in good hands.  And we can visit them!  :)

Sometimes.... this boy doesn't want to take pictures, but when I get him to take one, 

he give me this face!  What a ham!   He makes me laugh!

We had originally planned on milking Rose after she had babies, but we didn't have a stand ready in time.  It's hard to milk a goat when they can kick and walk away.  That didn't keep Barrett from trying, as you can see below.  I love this picture of Barrett.  He's a take-charge kind of guy!

While we were building the chicken coop, this little girl 

decided to come find a snug spot to supervise our work.

I try to remind the kids to put the lid on the sand box at night, so the lid doesn't blow away, so that nothing comes along and poops in it, and so that when it rains, we don't have a mud puddle!

As you can see from the picture below, the lid was left off and then we had a mud box for those stinkers to play in.  They enjoyed it!

Bonham made the chicken coop from a lot of wood and metal that he and my dad had scrapped.

On March 21st, Bonham's grandfather, George passed away.  

(Our George is named after him)

My kids don't get dressed up that much, so when they do, I have to take a lot of pictures!

Jayna really dislikes to write, so she was in her room, trying to find inspiration 

(or in other words, sulking)  :(

She loves to talk and read, but she will avoid writing whenever she can.  This is definitely something that we are working on this year!

She enjoyed this type of learning a lot more....

I love when they want  to be outside and I don't have to force them.  I look forward to consistently cooler nights, so that we can spend more time outside.  

It's hard to believe that March was almost 6 months ago.  This year is flying by!
